Three things we ♡ today.

Random pictures I know... could be wedding related but equally don't have to be...but I'm just in love with these 3 images.  Especially the hot pink lipstick.  Love it.  x

A little touch of winter

Good morning all... so, is it chilly where you are?  Winter sure is here!

We're always posting a lot of coloured inspiration boards, but today we thought we'd go with a good old fashioned black and white winter inspired board.

I'm secretly in love with the capelet.  I bought a few when I lived over in London and saved them for special occasions...  I always thought they made you feel quite glamorous! Lucy x

A very special venue

So in January this year it was a very exciting time for us Berries! As one of us was getting married. (and one was a bridesmaid and the other one was the MC!) Looking back it seems a bit crazy for someone who works in the wedding industry to get married in the middle of wedding season... but who doesn't like a bit of added pressure!

It was a strange feeling to become a 'bride' after being a 'supplier' for so long. But going through the process has given me a new appreciation for all our clients. It can be hard work!

I was lucky to know a lot of people in the industry so I knew exactly who I wanted to use. We had the wedding in Wellington, NZ and wanted to use all local suppliers - there is so much talent here in Wellington!

The first thing we booked was the easiest decision of all. It was the only place we looked at and the only place we wanted. The Tea Gardens in the Old Museum, Massey University. There is something special about that place, it is so beautiful and light. Not only had I gone to University there but I remember the place when it actually was our National Museum walking round there on wet Sunday afternoons with Grandparents.

There are so many great spots for photo opportunities at the Tea Gardens and surrounding grounds. We did some photos before the ceremony and after.

One of the many great things about the Tea Gardens, is that is like a blank canvas. You can either do very little dressing to it, as the place is so beautiful as it is, or really draw on its 1930s heritage and use that as a starting point for more of a theme.

The staff members at the venue were so helpful and really helped me out when I had to do a little 'date reshuffling' and the duty manager they had on the day was nothing short of amazing! They were so accommodating when I wanted to come back for a second look and helped out with all lighting and staging questions.  So all you brides to be looking for a venue in Wellington go and check it out - you won't be disappointed!

We thought you might enjoy a selection of photos ( taken by the AMAZING Candy Capco) from the special day and have a little look at what a wedding of someone who works in the industry looks like.  Enjoy!

The save the dates ( designed by Cocoa Berry - funnily enough!) the envelopes were lined with a photo of us at primary school. Same class!

The invitations were letter pressed. Simple design with one of my favorite typefaces!

THE shoes (arrived from the States the morning of the wedding!)  And RSVP cards, so much fun getting back in the mail. Highly recommend!

The flowers were one of my most favorite things. All thanks to the amazing team at The Picadilly Flower Company

We went for a 'first look' such a special moment. Everyone should do it! Taken in the Grand Hall of the Old Museum.

We had the reception at the Old Museum too. So perfect and you get great shots like this! The stairs are just stunning.

One of my most favorite things we did! This dessert table. Jody from The Couture Candy Buffet is some kind of genius not to mention one of the coolest people ever.

This is why we chose this venue! The reception in the Tea Gardens, those beautiful windows are just something else. All table set up done by the amazing Sarah Searancke Catering. Not to mention their stunning food!
