Spotlight couple - Samantha and Dominik

Towards the end of last year, we were lucky enough to design a full stationery suite for our gorgeous clients Samantha and Dominik. They were married on the 14th October 2011 at the wonderful venue Okahu.

They came to us with a specific theme in mind - it was a romantic travel theme coupled with old country. It suited them so well as they've certainly visited some wonderful destinations around the globe.

Gayle from Exquisite Weddings was their wedding planner and as always, did an amazing job pulling everything together.

Dillon photography captured the day with utter perfection and also supplied the fun filled Little Black Photobooth as well.

The cake from For Heavens Cake looked incredible! It was 4 tiers with both lemon and chocolate - and the extra special touch was that the piping on the cake matched the lace on Samantha's stunning wedding dress!

We want to wish Samantha and Dominik all the very best for their future together... !

Three things we ♡ today.

Is it really Friday already?! This week has flown by... but maybe because there have been 2 holidays between us. Wellington anniversary day on Monday and then over here, Australia day yesterday.

Okay, so these 3 things we love today do all happen to fall into the wedding category... they just really caught my eye. Veil. Place setting. Cake.

Exquisite veil and just love her hair colour.

Love this idea for a place setting. The artichoke.

Adore not just the height of this amazing cake, but also the setting where they decided to photograph it.

The Ampersand.

The ampersand. The & symbol. And.

Quite a powerful symbol really... especially in the wedding industry - the bringing of 2 people together... We here at Cocoa Berry LOVE it so much that we have a stationery suite designed especially dedicated to the ampersand. A beautiful yet simplistic way of using the & throughout your big day.

The shape of the ampersand character varies from font to font but is made up by using the letter 'e' and 't' - this is because the ampersand character is a stylised form of the Latin word 'et' which of course means 'and'. And history lesson over.

One of the Cocoa Berries moves to Melbourne

A couple of months ago my husband and I packed our bags and moved to Melbourne! He had been offered a lecturing role at the University of Melbourne, so off we went!

Ahhhhh Melbourne... what can I say... shopping, sun, sand, shopping....

It's been a very busy time - moving in the middle of the wedding season, not ideal! But Charlotte ran things wonderfully for a few weeks while I got myself sorted. Melbourne has an incredibly competitive house market, it's been a long wait, but we've finally found a wonderful place and somehow managed to keep on top things.

While busy searching for a new house, we pounded the pavement and explored numerous suburbs throughout Melbourne. Each has it's own little network of trendy cafes and restaurants, you never have to look very far. And the creativity in this city. Amah-zing.... Every little store I walk into just consumes me!

So in terms of a Cocoa Berry update... Charlotte is still based in Wellington, out and about meeting new clients and busy designing. Always busy designing! Then our gorgeous cousin Silvie is looking after clients in Auckland. So things are running very smoothly!

So what's next.... Cocoa Berry in Melbourne. It will be brilliant to be able to cover 3 such vibrant cities.

So anyway, you may find that every so often there will be blog about Melbourne... and now it will make sense as to why!
